Literature Text

Lying naked on the floor, gazing to the pale white ceiling
If I listen close, I can hear your voice singing
Calling me, chanting for my heart
The tears, the screams, I have no place to start

And soon you’ll be home, and it will be like
You were never gone, all these dreams pushed away to the open sky
But for now I just lay here, in a pool of drowning tears
I worry of what’s to come, of all the sweet nightmares
My fear that grows stronger everyday
The loneliness eats harder when I can’t see your face
And though I can see you
I just cannot feel you
Burning this town to show you the light
Hoping that somehow it will lead you home
So here I wait
In a town of flaming lights and stakes
Cowering away in shadows until night calls
Then on come the pouring tears of my broken heart
Will you come back to me or shall I wait forever
Sitting alone with all my dreams of us together
I’m just a tired page in your book
So please take one last look
At this girl at home waiting for a man
Silenced and torn to reach for his hand
To reach for your hand
The one and only hand
Reaching for the one and only you
In dreams that now only bring tears so blue
So why does this hurt
When I feel like you don’t want me to be yours
As if some retched soul has torn you away
To grieve alone, trapped in day to incinerate
And I cannot reach you to save your mournful tears
To rip away every forgotten year
So why must this hurt
To be in love with you, for my heart to yearn
So why must we be apart
The love they’ve conjured from our heart
The one that beats in melody
Together you and I shall always be
But why must others try to show us the way
Try to move us, to get us to stay
My heart is bleeding
The rivers that leave, I know not where they’re leading
So here I am waiting, pain or not
You, your love, the only things that I want
You are worth every tear, every scream
Every dreadful nightmare, and every soft beautiful dream
And I love you
I love you
…And that’s all anyone needs to know
This is the first poem that I actually poured my heart out through my pen. I'm proud of how it came out. I think I did well. I put a lot of emotion into this one. It's from my heart to your eyes. I hope you enjoy this window into my emotions. Thank you.

Merci Pour Le Venin
